Introducing After School: Real Experts for Real Family Life

Introducing After School: Real Experts for Real Family Life

At Hearth, we think a lot about what makes family life work. The routines that keep the chaos at bay. The invisible mental load so many primary caregivers carry. The skills kids need to grow into capable, compassionate humans.

We also know that no single tool — or touchscreen — can do it all. Families need community. They need credible support. And sometimes, they just need someone who gets it.

That’s why we’re thrilled to introduce After School: Hearth’s expert panel, created to bring trustworthy, practical, and heart-forward advice directly to the people who need it most—you.

These eight brilliant minds are leaders in childhood development, mental health, and family systems. They’re here to guide, support, and share wisdom in a way that feels both grounded and actionable. No fluff. No guilt. Just real help for real family life.

Meet Hearth's After School experts

Devon Kuntzman, PCC

Devon Kuntzman

Devon is the founder of Transforming Toddlerhood and a certified toddler parenting coach who’s made it her mission to help parents move from just surviving to truly thriving. If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by toddler tantrums, power struggles, or the daily “I do it myself!” showdown, Devon’s your person. In fact, she’s “the person” for the nearly 1 million parents who follow her on Instagram for her daily insights.

“The #1 mistake we unintentionally make as toddler parents is underestimating our child's physical capabilities and overestimating their social emotional abilities.”

Kelly Oriard

Kelly Oriard

Kelly is the Co-Founder & Chief Therapeutic Officer of Slumberkins — the beloved brand teaching kids emotional skills through storytelling. A family therapist and school counselor by training, she brings a deep understanding of emotional wellness and how to nurture it early, gently, and effectively. With Slumberkins, she and her co-founder Callie Christensen have coached one million kids into developing critical social-emotional skills.

“When children use positive phrases about themselves, it helps shape and strengthen their own inner voice that will be with them a lifetime. Saying an affirmation like 'I am brave, I am kind' and repeating it can soon become a child's reality.”

Emily Greenberg

Emily Greenberg

Emily is the President & Co-Founder of Joy, a modern parenting club bringing expert resources, toolkits, and real-life support to families. Their experts are available to answer questions by Joy Parenting Club members on everything from potty training to sibling dynamics. She’s all about ditching perfection and embracing what actually works — especially when it comes to the beautiful messiness of raising kids.

“Parents google up to 2000 times in their first year. The last thing someone needs is more homework. As a young parent, I was overstimulated, isolated, and anxious. I knew there had to be a better way.”

Rachael Yates, Ph.D.

Rachael Yates

Dr. Yates is a child and adolescent neuropsychologist with a gift for making the complex feel clear. From learning differences to emotional regulation, she helps families understand what’s really going on — and how to support their kids with compassion, clarity, and confidence.

“Resourceful children grow up to be independent and self-sufficient adults who feel confident in their own abilities.”

Saachi Dhingra

Saachi Dhingra

Saachi is the Co-Founder & CEO of Sachi, a platform that helps educators and families collaborate more easily and meaningfully. She’s building better systems for modern caregiving — because raising kids should be a shared effort, not a solo mission.

“Childcare is just as vastly diverse and solutions are nuanced for each family. Having worked closely with hundreds of families... I absolutely do not believe that a one size fits all childcare approach & solution is realistic.”

Dr. Morgan Cutlip

Dr. Morgan Cutlip

Dr. Morgan is a leading voice in the conversation around the mental load and emotional labor of parenting. Her recent book, A Better Share, offers a practical and compassionate guide for couples who want to rebalance responsibility at home.

"We just run through life, head down, white knuckling for so long that we sort of forget about us. We become so disconnected from ourselves we lose touch with what we need, who we are, and what lights us up. When you practice regular check-ins you can microdose meaningful self-care and make adjustments when necessary in how you’re navigating caring for everyone else and yourself.”

Callie Christensen

Callie Christensen

Callie brings years of experience in special education to her role at Slumberkins, where she ensures every product reflects developmental best practices. She’s passionate about accessibility, inclusion, and empowering kids through connection.

“I tend to want to jump into action and solve problems probably a little bit too quickly for my kids. I'm learning not to do that and Let them solve their own problems and really give them the opportunity to embrace growth mindset and learn those skills for themselves.”

Lauren Fouche

Lauren Fouche

Lauren works directly with children and families to build executive functioning skills, routines, and independence. Through The Kinected OT, she shares actionable tools that support regulation, sensory needs, and daily structure in real-world family life.

“While I always knew the benefit of OT for children with neurological disorders, developmental disabilities ect it wasn’t until I had my own children that I realized the foundational concepts of occupational therapy can benefit ALL children even ‘neurotypicals’. “
