Behind The Vision Of Hearth
As kids, we watched our own mothers seemingly doing it all—shuffling us to appointments and after-school practices, planning and making meals, packing lunches, scribbling grocery lists on scraps of paper, all while working full-time jobs. Our moms 'did it all' because they didn’t have a better alternative. They refused to compromise on their careers and weren’t willing to budge on their roles as mothers, either. Fast forward to today, and now as mothers ourselves, we see firsthand how difficult—if not impossible—it is to run a household this way.
We’re facing all the same pain points our mothers did—and the generations before them. Despite the progress, the struggle to manage a household and navigate family life continues to persist. How do you really balance it all? How do you foster a sense of independence in your children without sacrificing sanity? Without an equal division of the mental workload—the invisible effort of tracking to-dos, remembering appointments and events, staying on top of bills, organizing activities, and ultimately anticipating everyone’s needs—parents are on a fast track to burnout. This cognitive labor is exhausting, and sadly, falls disproportionately on women, making the challenge of raising a family even more overwhelming.
That said, while many families try to streamline things, outdated methods still linger—grocery lists taped to the fridge and color-coded chore charts. And one tool has remained a constant: the physical family calendar. Typically hanging near the kitchen, it gets erased and rewritten every week, often with the same recurring tasks. It doesn’t solve all our organizational problems and certainly isn’t the most aesthetically pleasing, but it sticks around for one simple reason—it’s always visible.
We Knew There Was A Better Way
We knew there had to be something that captured the essence of this—but made it smarter and more efficient. An option that evolved beyond the forgotten tasks, constant reminders, and the daily scramble. That’s why we’re building Hearth Display—to offer a more intuitive, more modern solution for managing family life. We talked to thousands of families to better understand their needs and frustrations in their family’s day-to-day life and create solutions to empower parents to excel, playing an active role in family management. That’s the core of why we started this company.
It’s a first-of-its-kind Display that pairs a beautifully designed screen with the tools families need to stay organized and balanced. Hearth replaces the clutter of bulletin boards and sticky notes, acting as a digital planner and family chore chart that’s accessible to everyone—even when on-the-go. It ensures that no task gets overlooked, brings transparency to divide the workload more equitably, and increases awareness for responsibilities and deadlines.
Just like the best project management tools at work, Hearth:
- Ensures nothing is forgotten or missed
- Creates transparency for fairer division of labor
- Increases visibility of tasks and responsibilities.
We know women still carry a bulk of the weight of household organization because existing systems lack these essential elements—transparency, equity, and visibility. Hearth Display is here to change that.
We’re proud to share that we’re in over 15,000 homes and counting. Hearth is simplifying modern family life and make parenting feel like true teamwork and not just about task lists and reminders, but real collaboration and partnership—so you can make time for the magical moments that matter most.
